MIA

Sorry I've been a little MIA lately.  I'll sum up the last few months.

All summer long people gave us food they had grown.  Luckily, I was kind of "nesting".  I made grape juice, grape jelly, apple juice, dehydrated apple chips, canned pears, canned peaches, and canned tomatoes.  I attempted to dehydrate potatoes, but it didn't work out.  Maybe I'll try again next year.  I was going to take a picture of everything to, but I never got around to it.  And now all the juice, jelly, and apple chips are gone.  :(

Winter has been hard.  Our house has become too small for two active little boys, and there isn't much to do outside in single digit weather.  We haven't had a lot of snow to play in either.

In January, our sweet baby girl was born.  She weighed 8 lbs 10 oz and was 22 inches long. (Although I think they measured inaccurately and she was only 21 1/2 inches long.)  (Sorry,  my internet is too slow to upload a picture today.  Check my facebook page for a picture.)

After baby girl was born, I refashioned a dress into a nursing top by adding part of a tank top underneath.  That's all the crafting I have been doing.  Well, that's it for me.  Are you doing anything fun?  And if you really want to see how my life is, check out my other blog: http://faithhopeandcourage.blogspot.com/   Warning: it's a long post.

  1. I've been thinking of turning an old t shirt into a half tee by adding elastic so I can wear it with dresses. Have you done that? Have I ever told you I love the name of your blog? So cute and clever.

  2. Thanks Lisa!! I like it too. I try to be clever. I haven't tried that exact refashion. I did try to convert a sort of baby doll shirt into a nursing shirt. It had a seam at the bust. I opened the seam, and added fabric at the end of it, so it would cover the open seam. And at the bottom, I sewed on some clear elastic inside. I didn't do it right though. It wasn't tight enough, and the elastic was old I think. i got it from this blog: http://www.homesweethomebodies.net/2010/07/shirt-to-nursing-shirt-refashion.html. What I learned is to measure where you want it to hit, taking into account your larger than usual bust, and then add however much you need for a casing around some elastic. Let me know if you have questions and how it goes!

We used freetaxusa this time with your coupon code and saved so much money! We don't own a home so our return was pretty simple. We decided the difference between that site and turbotax is the graphics. With turbotax you pay for nicer graphics. Thanks for the post on taxes! :D
